Robin's diary

I understand most stuff, but not this…

I like to keep up to date with news and current affairs, but most of the time, it’s just frustrating. Why do we want to fight, kill people, make people suffer?  It’s not just the Middle East, but Eastern Europe, Haiti, Africa, and who knows where else? Surely in the 21st century, in what is supposed to be a civilized world, we can live with each other. But even here at home, violence is too common, and almost just accepted? I just don’t get it.

Never mind looking after the planet, we need to look after each other, love thy neighbour, not fight them. I know it’s quoting the obvious for most of us, the majority, but it’s another case of the minority shaping and affecting the majority.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the solution, and I always ask people who have problems to offer a solution, so in that respect I’ve failed my own test! I do believe that there should be more emphasis on each other than global warming, and we should try to accept we all have different priorities and beliefs – otherwise we won’t have a civilized planet to look after.
