Woman climbing up a cliff for Robin's Diary

No limits....

This week I’m looking at what can be achieved when a team are focused, have a clear goal, a plan, and practice it, perfect it, and implement it.  That is something everyone can all relate to, if you’re willing to change, develop and train. It may be you can’t do anything, but you can certainly change your life for the better.  It’s not easy, but as with most things in life, if it was easy, we would all be doing it!

Just look at Leeds Utd - pretty much the same people, but a new plan, and as footballers spend most of their week training and perfecting for 90 minutes of action, this is a fine example, as most of us wouldn’t commit to 38 hours of training, for 2 hours of work, or sport!!

Generally we want to ‘do’, not ‘train’, but if sportspeople spent less time training than competing or working, they certainly wouldn’t be successful.  So, no matter what you want to achieve – whether in sport, at home, parenting, hobbies or work, put the time in to perfect what you do.  Don’t just try harder to do what you did, without learning how to do it better.  It’s a bit like trying to knock a wall down - you can push as hard as you want for as long as you want but it’s unlikely to achieve the desired result - but when you know how to do it, and have the tools to do it, you won’t need to work as hard, and you will succeed quicker.

Take a lead from Leeds Utd - once nearly a laughing stock, now one of the most admired teams in the country - they had a plan and stuck to it!
