The world is full of surprises!

Whilst recent events mean we never know what the future holds, who would have predicted the last 12 months? It has also thrown some surprises - now we can’t offer showroom visits or test drives, but we can sell cars via delivery or click and collect.

So you would expect new cars with all the comfort and reassurance that comes with a new car to sell better than used, where previously a close look, touch and feeling the car would be more important? Well that’s not the case – surprisingly, used cars are selling via phone calls, emails, video calls, SMS and Whats App, at levels not far off previous years’, but new cars sales are considerably slower!  Even more surprising is that new cars have some great offers to ease the pain, but used cars are in high demand, and short supply.

This might be a result of our website with videos, photos, detailed descriptions and our reviews giving confidence, or it might be just an unusual result of all the restrictions, but it’s surprised me, and just goes to show that we are not computers, we act in emotions and confidence - but if anyone knows why used cars are selling in lockdown faster than new, please let me know, and I’ll do what I can to overcome it!!

“Life is full of surprises: new opportunities come up; that's part of the fun - the adventure of life. The thing is, chaos doesn't allow us to enjoy the adventure.”  Patrick Lencioni
