Robin's Diary

Jigsaw puzzle for Robin's diary

Avoiding the news!

I have heard lots of people saying they are sick of watching The News at the moment and who can blame them, so it’s not easy to think of content for this week’s diary, but here goes! This has nothing to do with cars, Covid or Brexit, and you won’t have heard it anywhere else!

For Christmas, my wife bought me a jigsaw! Honestly, not a nice easy one, but a 1,000 piece one, of somewhere we had been on holiday. I must admit I wasn’t overexcited when I unwrapped it, but knowing if I left it in the box it wouldn’t go down well, I started it over the weekend!  I am now 4 days in and just over halfway through it!

I must say that it has brought back great memories of doing jigsaws as a kid, it has given me something to do rather than watching repeats or rubbish on TV, and I might even do another! Isn’t it amazing how the tried and tested basics never go away - just like I nicked a bit of fish finger from my granddaughter and it brought back memories from childhood - it shows how the very basic things we enjoyed years ago never leave us.   If I’m starting to like what I liked in childhood, is that because I’m still young at heart, or am I over the hill????
