It’s better to talk!
This week’s big story isn’t just about King Charles having been diagnosed with Cancer, but the fact that he has openly discussed his recent health issues.
Obviously, this is close to my heart, having also shared the news openly about my prostate cancer journey. It is through that, I have discovered one of the reasons too many people don’t think it will happen to them, is because many keep it a secret, which I can understand!
I have however received many messages saying they are now booking a test, and King Charles has achieved the same on a much bigger scale. So, it’s reassuring to know others will be saved by early diagnosis.
Nearly 4 weeks on from my operation, I can happily reassure anyone, it’s not as bad as you might think! Yes, I’m still tired. No, I’m not back at work full time - but I’m fine. The side effects are not as bad as I feared, I’ve not been on pain killers since I left hospital. It’s nothing to be frightened about, as long as you get an early diagnosis, so demand a test and do it now!!
And don’t be embarrassed, it’s nothing compared to the alternative!
